Vivek Kaul

With over 18 years of industry experience, Vivek brings tremendous depth of knowledge and sectoral expertise to the firm. He has played an instrumental role in augmenting CBRE’s retail business in India by creating a differentiated and customized approach for the retail practice, and brings the same in his Asia-wide capacity.

Prior to leading the Asia portfolio, Vivek was instrumental in getting many first to market brands, and leading the Indian retail growth story. Vivek led the CBRE India Retail business for over 5 years, managing a team of over 63 professionals and working closely with the firm’s global leadership to drive the implementation of CBRE’s India retail strategy. Vivek was the single point of contact in the region for retailers, real estate developers and investors, counselling new global and existing brands on their India market entry and expansion plans.

Through his tenure at CBRE, Vivek has handled marquee leasing transactions across India’s prime retail real estate assets for prominent brands from various categories, including Luxury Retail, Department Stores, Fashion and Apparel, F&B, Entertainment and Multiplexes, among others. He specializes in formulating Mall Re-invention and Design Improvement strategies and undertaking Concept Ratification for upcoming malls.

Vivek engages actively with leading Institutional investors and developers for Mall Design Reviews, Trade and Tenant Mix Planning, and overall Mall Leasing Strategy leading to increase in asset value.

Prior to joining CBRE, Vivek was associated with firms like DLF for four years as their Head of Leasing for Retail developments across India, and JLL as the Leader for their Retail P&L in India for eight years.
