Umesh Patel

Umesh Patel serves as Chief Information Officer in CBRE’s Digital & Technology organization. Umesh and his team are responsible for global enterprise platforms and cybersecurity, serving 110,000+ employees across CBRE’s 500+ office locations worldwide. In his role, Umesh provides strategic direction and day-to-day operations of global infrastructure, ERP platforms, DevOps/Cloud Engineering, Architecture, and Cybersecurity.

During his tenure, Umesh has transformed technology from a commodity into a business value driver with modernized and converged infrastructure, best-in-class technology architecture, improved cybersecurity defense, and operating platform efficiencies that have positioned the business to focus on digital enablement to further extend the company’s leadership in the market.

Prior to joining CBRE, Umesh served as the Chief Technology Officer for Bloomin’ Brands, a major restaurant chain with 1,400+ locations in 21 countries. He executed a large-scale transformation that introduced mobile technologies to help drive productivity and customer experience. Umesh is a seasoned technology executive with decades of experience spanning multiple industries, including telecommunications, environmental services, IT services, restaurants, and commercial real estate.
