Collaboration Fueling Innovation: CBRE’s Global Hackathon 2022
A look inside this year’s Innovate 2022 - Digital and Technology group’s first annual global hackathon.

This year’s Innovate 2022 exemplified that spirit.
Officially kicking off Innovate 2022, CBRE’s Digital & Technology (D&T) group hosted its first annual company-wide global hackathon. Participants from across the global business segments came together to innovate and showcase new ideas and solutions with the goal of generating value for our business.
After the deadline, each team had 15 minutes to present to the judges. Each demonstration was impressive – from innovation leveraging data for investment decisions to augmented reality for capturing and maintaining asset information, to name just a few.Our judges had the difficult decision of identifying the top ten teams that would advance to the final judging phase where three grand prize winners would be announced for Innovate 2022 Fest.In addition to the top three winners, five teams were awarded a category champion award and ten teams were awarded a special jury selection award bringing Innovate 2022 Fest to a dynamic and memorable close.

How it Started
The first official announcement for Innovate 2022 was made in August to our internal global D&T community. With only three weeks to register, we received an overwhelming response with submissions from 75 teams globally.Innovate 2022 Launch
Innovate 2022 launched in October with opening remarks by CBRE Chief Digital & Technology Officer, Sandeep Davé and D&T Senior Leadership. Teams were given 48 hours to plan, prepare and build their prototypes, collaborating across the globe. For the duration of the event, offices in London, England; Hyderabad, India; and Richardson (Dallas area), Texas became our flagship locations across the exciting week-long event.
