Tom Edwards

Thomas Edwards was appointed Global President for the Valuation & Advisory Services (VAS) business line in January 2019. In this role, Mr. Edwards is responsible for driving CBRE’s growth strategy for VAS and providing executive oversight for the company’s 3,000 talented VAS professionals to help them deliver exceptional outcomes for real estate owners, investors and lenders.

With a career spanning more than 25 years which includes spending time based in Australia, Asia and America, Mr. Edwards brings a broad range of experience to his leadership role. He has been involved in many complex valuations and consultancy assignments across all asset classes including residential, commercial and industrial properties, CBD assets, suburban shopping centres, sub-divisions and specialized assets. 

Prior to this global role, Mr. Edwards was head of VAS for CBRE’s Asia Pacific Region for five years where he was instrumental in improving the quality and risk management process and technology platform within the region, which are now considered global standards for the company.  In 2008, he was appointed as Regional Director of Residential Valuation Services for CBRE’s Australian business. In this role, he was responsible for creating Australia’s largest residential valuation business. Mr. Edwards joined CBRE in 2005 following the firm’s acquisition of the DTZ Brisbane valuation business in Queensland, Australia, after 10 years of various leadership roles early in his career.
