Professional Experience

As Managing Director of CBRE Buildings & Systems, Michael is responsible for the management of all Engineering Design, Building Commissioning and Facility Condition Assessment professionals. The engineering disciplines within CBRE include Structural, Mechanical, Energy, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection. Michael has served as the Senior Director of Engineering, Design Project Manager, Engineering Project Manager, and Structural Project Engineer on many of the firm’s major projects. His experience encompasses a wide range of facility types, including high-rise buildings, parking decks, sports facilities and arenas, health care facilities with bed towers, and a variety of industrial facilities, such as high-bay warehouses and data centers.

Michael is a key operational leader with a balance of technical skills, organizational analysis, relationship management, and business acumen. He is responsible for the strategic direction of the Buildings & Systems teams with an emphasis on organizational and project efficiency. One of his major objectives is aligning CBRE Buildings & Systems expertise to deliver the client’s definition of success on a project by project basis.

Michael began his tenure with CBRE as a staff Structural Engineer in June of 2000. Performing all facets of engineering, Michael conducts facility condition assessments, design reviews, and engineering design from project inception to completion. His focus on business development efforts in the Southeast, mentoring fellow staff members, and excellence in engineering design gave Michael the skills and experience to transition to lead the Engineering Practice in 2016. Michael has been responsible for challenging structural engineering scope, as well as maintaining client relationships through in-depth project management. As Managing Director of CBRE Buildings & Systems, he has built a team of cross-performing professionals able to address any client issues related to the shell, core, or infrastructure of their facilities.
