Michael Nhu brings to CBRE Hotels Research 15 years of extensive experience in economics research and econometric modelling, including more than a decade in the tourism and hospitality fields. 
 
In his former economist role, Michael was responsible for quantitative forecasting of Singapore tourism and hotel demand, and assisted the Singapore Tourism Board with short- to long-term industry strategic planning. He also led various economic studies (economic impact, cost benefit analysis, market sizing) for large-scale tourism development projects such as the Mandai Nature Precinct, Orchard Road Rejuvenation,  MICE Hub, Premium Outlet Mall, F1 Race, and WTA Finals, among others. And most recently, as a Senior Manager in charge of Singapore hotel performance database and analytics,  Michael helped to develop a hotel module for the Singapore Tourism Analytics Network (STAN), an end-to-end solution for data collection, modelling and visualization.
 
Previously, in the private sector, Michael worked as Senior Economist at AECOM Economics where he focused on real estate research and land-use economic planning for Asia Pacific clients. Before AECOM, he helped Club Med Asia Pacific successfully launch a regional Loyalty Program and assisted with market research and feasibility studies for new resort investments while working as a regional Business and CRM Analyst.
