Our team provided architectural, interior and engineering design services for a new 14-story office renovation for Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the leading network of regulated exchanges and clearinghouses for financial and commodity markets. The design needed to convey stability and tradition, while demonstrating a leading technological edge. The juxtaposition of these two ideas drove the development of the overall aesthetic, balancing marble and woods with sleek modern materials throughout the executive offices as well as supplementary offices for accounting, programmers and developers.

The client wanted to create a “smart” interior, one that supports the nature of the company and is designed to support and improve work and tasks customized to meet the needs of their different program requirements. In order to foster continued innovation in its delivery of reliable and accessible data, technology and risk management services around the world, the client needed a design that focused on collaboration. The solution required creating “hubs” of social settings and work venues to encourage interaction. All of this work was completed while existing tenants remained in place.
