The design of CBRE's new Atlanta office creates a dynamic free-address environment that establishes a sense of equity between all employees of the real estate services firm's Atlanta location. The space is flexible, one in which an executive could sit next to a new employee on one day and conduct a high-level meeting the next. Space was treated as a commodity that is shared and experienced by all employees while simultaneously celebrating employee diversity and brand identity.Programmatically, the space accommodates more than 550 employees and guests and 43 departments. The program includes a concierge area and an employee communal space, required to support free address working, dining, meetings and concierge services. It also
required the development of a technology hub space, including “genius bar” environment with a service desk, lounge, coffee bar, work room and access to the distribution facility.
With an emphasis on wellbeing, social connectivity and seamless technology, CBRE Design Collective’s greatest opportunity was to create a space that was inspiring, encouraged dialogue between its diverse population, and strategized the efficiency of free address working. The space needed to encourage the physical, emotional and intuitive connection between employees, so that their best work was inevitable.
The final design solution provides a balance of high performing workspace with a sense of hospitality that is uniquely Atlanta.
